Student Affairs requires all student organizations and departments that are using spaces secured through the William Pitt Union Reservation Office and the O'Hara Student Center to have appropriate licensing to publicly screen a film. This means that you will have to secure Public Performance Rights (PPR). For independently produced films, the director or producer can often grant you the right to show the film on campus. For commercially distributed films, you will have to secure PPR from the distributor.

The University Library System (ULS) does not purchase or manage PPR for films in our collection and we do not purchase PPR for films (unless the rights come with the film at the point of purchase, as with Kanopy - see our FAQ about PPR for more information).
