During the Spring semester of 2025, the underlying software platform for D-Scholarship@Pitt , the University of Pittsburgh's institutional repository, is changing from EPrints to Hyku for Consortia. The University Library System has been working behind the scenes to prepare all previous deposits to be migrated into the new system, while also configuring the deposit workflows and collection organization options. We are aiming to minimize any interruptions in depositing your scholarly works and to the Electronic Theses and Dissertations which are also stored there.

The main changes you will notice in the new platform will be:

  • Simplified workflows for depositing works
  • Collections features that allows your works to be associated with existing schools, programs, or subject areas; and will allow for unique grouping of records for unique projects, communities, and research needs.
  • In-record document reading pane
  •  Responsive design

Though we are working to ensure consistency in the records between both platforms, there may be slight differences in the metadata details for legacy deposits. If you have any questions or concerns about your existing works, please reach out to our D-Scholarship@Pitt administrators. Your original record URL will redirect to the new record URI in the forthcoming platform, so there should be no need to make any editorial changes to references on your departmental pages, CV, or citations.

On a related note, the ETD review and approval process for students is also changing. We will no longer be using D-Scholarship@pPitt for the initial submission and review process, but instead will be using ProQuest's ETD Administrator service.  Each school will have a unique site for their students and all ETDs will still be delivered to D-Scholarship@Pitt once they are approved. For more information, please either refer to the related ETD FAQ or look for updates on the etd.pitt.edu site.

We thank you for your patience in understanding during this transition.
