The Oakland campus has a dedicated Music Library. All recordings available at this location are in CD format.

The Theodore M. Finney Music Library is located in the basement of the Music Building at the corner of 5th and Bellefield (map). In addition to audio recordings, the library has a large collection of books, scores, microforms, and periodicals, as well as video material. Audiovisual materials circulate to the Pitt community for a 14-day period, and there are listening and viewing stations available in the library (headphones are also available). More information about resources available at the Music Library can be found on the Music Information and Research @ Pitt LibGuide.

In addition, the ULS subscribes to databases that offer full-length streaming audio tracks. The Music Online database suite includes access to the American Song, Classical Music Library, Contemporary World Music, Jazz Music Library, and Smithsonian Global Sound collections. Naxos Music Library and Jazz Library are also available. The Database of Recorded American Music (DRAM) provides access to a diverse collection, focusing on contemporary music and historically important recordings. The ULS also subscribes to streaming video databases that pertain to music, including Academic Video Online, Medici TV, and Met Opera on Demand.
