Bookmarks are links that enable the reader of the ETD to navigate through the document chapter by chapter. They also allow the reader to link to tables, figures, charts, etc. Bookmarks are a requirement in the ETD because they enable long documents, such as dissertations and theses, to be easily read across multiple sessions.
