SciVal offers access to the research performance, based on publications, of 5,500 research institutions and 220 nations worldwide. It enables you to visualize research performance, benchmark relative to peers, develop collaborative partnerships and analyze research trends. (Note: you need to create an account on the SciVal site to use this tool)

Currently the three modules of SciVal available to the University of Pittsburgh affiliated users are: 

  • The Overview module provides a high-level overview of the research performance of home Institution, other Institutions, Countries and Groups of Researchers.
  • The Benchmarking module compare and benchmark home Institution to other Institutions, Researchers and Groups of Researchers using a variety of metrics.
  • The Trends module enables researchers to find out  the current scientific trends to determine a new research strategy, find collaboration opportunities and rising stars.
